Our DoggTag® and DoggBone® devices and the Animal Traceability Platform™ helps producers make more money from every animal they raise. Our system enables animal tracking, welfare, and traceability data in an easy-to-use application.

We are a fast-growing company and are looking for an experienced and dynamic Field Service Technician with extensive experience working on-site with livestock producers primarily beef, dairy or Bison, who is based in Colorado.

Duties for the Field Technician will include the installation of new and existing hardware, monitoring systems already installed, updating and improving designs, evaluating environmental impact, mitigating risk, ensuring compliance, drafting reports, conducting field operations, analyzing data, overseeing equipment maintenance, job planning, troubleshooting, and supporting overall project objectives for projects located in the United States. Your technical expertise will assist our organization in increasing client satisfaction, improving efficiency, managing risk, diagnosing problems, and complying with laws and regulations.

Candidates for this role should possess a deep understanding of hardware and software systems, excellent communication skills, the ability to pay meticulous attention to detail, and be able to think on their feet. The ideal candidate will diagnose and resolve problems with ease, work to improve efficiency, mitigate risk, encourage business growth, and develop relationships with our clients.


  • Provide service, training, and customer support during in-field visits with our Producers
  • Complete all on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and testing
  •  Diagnose technical problems, determine and carry out appropriate solutions
  •  Cooperate with the HerdDogg technical team and share information with stakeholders across the organization
  • Comprehend and document Producer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings to internal stakeholders
  • Submit timely and detailed service reports
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with our Producers
  • Conduct site inspections
  • Extensive on-site visits

Specifications & Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical field.
  • 5+ years’ experience working with agricultural or livestock producers.
  •  2-3 years’ experience with in-field work.
  • Experience with agile development, Github, and other project management tools.
  • Experience with Iot Technologies: LTE, CAT-M1, BLE, GSM, 5G, Zigbee, LoRa.
  • Able to fix anything – you’re the one people call when they need help.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think on your feet.
  • Focused, friendly, and enthusiastic about your work.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Be versatile and service-oriented.
  • Time and task management.
  •  Self-motivated. 
  • Ability to lift 55lbs.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Travel: 40-50%.
