HerdDogg, a leader in innovative precision livestock technologies and animal health, announced that the board of directors has unanimously elected Louis Faust as chief executive officer. Faust succeeds HerdDogg’s current CEO and Founder Melissa Brandao, who will transition to leading HerdDogg’s sales and marketing efforts as chief revenue officer.
“After a thorough and deliberate selection process, the Board of Directors is delighted to have Lou step into the CEO role at HerdDogg. We are starting to see significant momentum within the precision livestock industry,” said Rob Schultz, Managing Partner at Serra Ventures and HerdDogg’s lead investor, “and Lou has a thorough understanding of the AgTech sector and how to scale a startup that is poised for growth. We are excited to have him join our team and I have no doubt that he is the right person to take the helm at HerdDogg.”
“I have had the pleasure of knowing Lou for several years as a colleague and mentor. In our search for a CEO he was our stand-out candidate,” said Brandao, current CEO and HerdDogg Founder. “I am so happy for HerdDogg; for our employee family, our customers and our investors. I look forward to working with Lou in this new capacity and on behalf of the company I love.”
“I am honored that the HerdDogg Board of Directors chose me to follow in the footsteps of a founder that is passionate and committed to HerdDogg’s success,” said Faust. “I am also thrilled to be joining the team at a time that will allow us to turn HerdDogg into the preeminent platform for animal health and welfare.”
Faust is a senior executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience. Most recently he was the Chief Executive Officer of Agribotix, LLC, an agricultural intelligence company delivering information to farmers to help increase yields and profits using drone-enabled technologies. He sold Agribotix to a NYSE company in the second half of 2018. He has run three institutionally funded companies and is a board advisor to several companies. Earlier in his career, he spent ten years on Wall Street at Salomon Brothers where he was a Managing Director and ran Global Operations.
